et al.: Schillings are astonishingly generous

By WDavidStephenson | December 22, 2007

My family and I just returned from the dinner that Curt and Shonda Schilling hosted for families in our area who have sons or daughters in Iraq or Afghanistan.
I won’t go into detail, because they’re very modest and self-effacing about their philanthropy, be it national, on finding cures for ALS and skin cancer, or in our own community. Suffice it to say that the presents that the families were given (of course he also used his connections in the MMO world to solicit items from Microsoft, EA, et al.; many Medfield families, Comcast [we could send Christmas vid messages to our kids over there] and the Red Sox Foundation were involved; the Primavera Restaurant donated the dinner — I could go on and on…) were absolutely staggering.
He also offered heart-felt thanks for the sacrifices our sons and daughters are making. Thank you, Schillings!
