How ’bout them Sox?
By WDavidStephenson | October 29, 2007
Wow — I’ll be wearing my
collector’s item “Medfield - Schilling 38″ T today (honoring our homie, Curt Schilling) all day.
This one doesn’t feel as amazing as 2004 (try to explain to people from other areas why so many graves around New England were festooned the day after with copies of The Globe, Sox pennants, and handwritten notes saying “Grandpa, we finally won it.” — or why yours truly rang the bell in our church that night — with the police’s blessing), but we’ll take it, nonetheless!
And you gotta love the individuals: wunderkinder Ellersby, Pedroia, Buchholz, Lester; elder statesmen Schilling, Varitek, and Lowell (boy, is he classy); Big Papi, and even Manny. Not to mention Tito.
On the first real day of Winter in these parts, now it’s time to switch to the Hot Stove League (and let’s hope we don’t lose too many of these guys — or the coaches — to free agency.
