Another bin Laden tag cloud visualization

By WDavidStephenson | September 21, 2007

I’ve just posted another word cloud (vs. tag cloud) data visualization on Many Eyes: this time the subject is bin Laden’s September 19th, 2007 “Come to Jihad” message to Pakistanis to launch jihad against Musharaff (as translated by Laura Mansfield).

I hope you’ll compare it to the one I did of his Sept. 9th “The Solution” video. Of course, this won’t be an apples-to-apples comparison, since the first video focused on the United States, and the newer one on Pakistan and Musharaff.

However, I was personally struck by how frequently bin Laden used “blood” in both messages — this is certainly an apocalyptic vision (couldn’t help contrasting it to the non-violence of the march yesterday in Louisiana).

Take a look at both, and please add comments either here or on Many Eyes about your own observations about patterns, etc.!
