et al.: “Snakes on a Plane” won’t fly

And now for something completely different, as the Python boys would say (had to work that reference in because we’re pursuing a snake theme today).

Darn — those of us who are fans of the campy “Snakes on a Plane” can’t look forward to a real-life reprise, it appears. TSA screeners recently confiscated 30 — count ‘em, 30 — dead snakes (not to mention a bird and parts of several other birds) in the luggage of a dude coming into the US from South Korea.

In a slight bit of understatement, the story says “TSA officials said they have no idea what the passenger intended to do with the creatures.”

Reminds me of the story my grandmother used to tell about her friend whose suitcase, containing her recently-deceased dog, was stolen at the train station…
