August 6, 2001: a day that will live in infamy
By WDavidStephenson | August 6, 2007
Thanks to
Bluegal for tipping me off to this blogswarm commemorating the August 6, 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing.
In it, Bush was duly warned, as the title put it (rather hard to ignore, I’d say) “Bin Ladin Determined to Strike U.S.”
It began:
“Clandestine, foreign government, and media reports indicate Bin Ladin
since 1997 has wanted to conduct terrorist attacks in the US.”
Call me excitable, but ahm thinkin’ that kinda warnin’ (sneakin’ in a little West Texas locution here for y’all …) would motivate me to action.
Read and weep — and don’t forget!
